Great post! Schnapps seems to occupy a weird intersection of mixer rather than shooter and too commercial/sugared to warrant a hipster revival to rival bitters (good luck with that $60 6oz bottle of small batch craft bitters that tastes like weed-eater line thanks to the hand-harvested, pesticide free, nonGMO dandelion greens). I had a friend from Atlantic City (yes, really) who loved Dr McGillicuddy's Peppermint Schnapps. No other brand would do. Peculiar.

"A more committed craftsperson would have tried to clarify the apple juice, but I am a committed crapsperson." Well-played.

Thank you for using Willennium as an indicator of time period. Also I watch a lot of Below Deck and exclaim once per episode, “Another espresso martini???” I have never had one, who’s got the best in town?

The best sign I ever saw anyone hold at an SKC was years ago at an RSL game - "Nick Rimando Drinks Appletinis." Nick happened to spot it and cracked up.

I don't think it's possible to make a sour apple liqueur using natural ingredients, they don't taste the same (at least not to me). I think you're probably best off just infusing vodka with jolly ranchers: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/238736/jolly-rancher-infused-vodka/
